Chocolate Peanut Butter Chip Cookies
It’s my birthday today! I’m not making my own birthday cake, so unfortunately there will be no birthday cake post. However, there will be a cookie post! I made these cookies about a month or so ago and had the pictures lying around, so I thought I’d post them up while Pranas toils away baking my birthday cake downstairs. :)

This recipe probably came off a bag of Reese’s peanut butter chips at some point, but I got the recipe from my mom. It’s really simple and makes awesome cookies that are a nice break from the standard chocolate chip, sugar, and oatmeal cookie grind.
Chocolate Peanut Butter Chip Cookies
Prep Time: Approx. 15 minutes (not including bake time)
Yield: Approx. 5-6 dozen cookies, depending on how big you like your cookies
1 cup margarine
1 1/2 cups sugar
2 eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla
3 cups unsifted all-purpose flour
2/3 cup cocoa powder
3/4 teaspoons baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 12-oz. package Reese’s Peanut Butter Chips (they obviously don’t have to be Reese’s)
Cream butter or margarine, sugar, eggs, and vanilla until light and fluffy. Combine flour, cocoa, baking soda and salt; add to creamed mixture. Stir in peanut butter chips. Your batter will look something like this:
Super creamy and delicious. Try not to eat it all before it’s baked! Drop by teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet, OR chill until firm enough to handle and shape small amounts of dough into 1-inch balls. Place on ungreased cookie sheet and flatten slightly with fork.
Bake at 350 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes. Cool 1 minute before removing from cookie sheet onto wire rack.

Yum! These cookies are very soft and chewy, and anything that combines the magical pair of chocolate and peanut butter is ok in my book.
I’ll probably make a post later tonight with some Thanksgiving side dish recipes. Until then, enjoy these! Happy birthday to me :)
